How Powell’s Bookstore Became a Bribe and a Reward

Last Nov, I posted a letter our 10yo wrote about coming home from school, super excited, and demanded to visit Powell’s.

I tagged Powell’s with no expectations because I am a decent human who likes to give credit where credit is due and Powell’s inspired that story. Next thing I know, Powell’s has become a bribe AND a reward, and I ain’t mad.

1st week back at school went spectacularly well

Our girls went back to school 691 days after the pandemic began in our area.

I procrastinated re-registering them and I may or may not be waiting for the other shoe to drop. But dammit – 1 week in and the smiles are just beginning.

SO. DAMN. CLOSE. yet not nearly close enough

When I took a leap of faith 7 months ago to quit my job – I wore rose-colored glasses and no one could bring me back down to reality.

7 months later – everything has changed and so have I. In more ways than I ever could have imagined.
